Dancing is a great thing to do with friends, whether it’s in your kitchen or living room at home, out at a club or in a class.

Dancing is a brilliant way to get your heart rate up and have a good time in the process.  You don’t need to be on your feet to dance either, you can dance in a chair or even sat up in bed.  Whatever you can move, move it to your favourite music.  Start by dancing for a couple of songs and build up to thirty minutes (or 3 sets of 10 minutes during a day) if you can.  [add dancing at home to my plan]

If dance is something you do take or want to take more seriously, why not explore local clubs or socials.  There are lots of types of dance that can be easily modified.

Take a look at this American Wheelchair Dance Association video for some inspiration!

1.Main-Images/mojomoves-theteachers.jpgIf you like the idea of dancing but need a bit of motivation to get started – take a look at the MojoMoves for MS dancerise sessions.

MojoMoves is a unique aerobic fitness class in which the onus is on fun and feeling good.  The sessions combine ‘literal dance’ and comedy with the structure of a standard aerobics class. The MojoMoves for MS routines here are in sitting, but could also be done in standing.

There are three MojoMoves for MS warm ups lasting around 5 minutes each, three main routines lasting around 25 minutes each and three cool downs, lasting around 5 minutes each.

To begin with you might want to try a warm up and half of a main routine for example and build up to doing a warm up, a main routine and a cool down.
