Hands, fingers and wrists

This 9-minute video made by an American Physical Therapist provides a hand and finger strengthening routine using thera-putty.  She explains what the putty is and how to buy it – but playdough, plasticine or salt dough would be suitable alternatives.  The routine consists of 6 well explained exercises.

Arms and back

  1. This 7-minute video from the MS Society MS Active Together series provides several strengthening exercises for the back and upper body. These exercises are done in sitting.  You will need some hand weights (or tins of beans)

  2. This 16-minute routine has been produced specifically for people with MS. This video focusses on arm strengthening.  All the exercises are done in sitting.  You will need hand weights, a tin of beans.

  3. This upper limb strengthening programme from the MS Trust is a short programme of exercises that may suit you. You can make these exercises harder by gradually increasing the number of repetitions you do or by adding hand weights.
