When it comes to being physically active – we need to be well hydrated and have a ‘balanced diet’ to enable our mind and body to function as best as is possible.

Put simply, a balanced diet is one which gives our body all the nutrients it needs.  To achieve a balanced diet we need to:

  1. Eat a variety of foods
  2. Make sure the majority of our calories each day come from fruit and vegetables, whole grains, nuts and lean protein rather than fatty foods and starchy carbohydrates.

Dietician Dr Conor Kerley provides some straightforward advice about how to improve your diet if you have MS and highlights that you can consult a health care professional if you need specific advice.
